CT-IN: Building strong human resources |
The breakthrough after
privatisation
Before carrying out
privatisation, CT-IN is only a small-sized business, focusing on both
production and trading to ensure the stable development, and investment
in human resources and technology for further development. Five years
after the privatisation, CT-IN has so far affirmed its position in
sectors: solutions-products-services for telecom integration and
information technology; services of installation and mobile phone
network integration for the country’s biggest GSM providers including
Vinaphone and Mobifone. At the same time, with the advantage in
technical skills, exploitation capacity and professional project
management ability, CT-IN always takes the lead in providing CDMA mobile
phone system integration services for mobile phone service providers
such as S-Fone, EVN Telecom and Hanoi Telecom. Moreover, CT-IN has set
development strategy to become a prestigious computing company in order
to occupy the market share in core network equipment, host computer and
software for ISPs.
In 2006, CT-IN’s service of
installing telecommunication equipment saw an outstanding growth both in
revenues and technical content. This was the first time the company
signed a contract to provide in-all services including installation,
network connection, and independent transfer (not depending on technical
assistance of equipment provider). The contract marked the company’s
growth in technical capacity, project organisation and implementation
ability. CT-IN keeps its position as a major partner to carry out
equipment installation and network connection service for foreign firms
such as Motorola, Nec, Huawei, Ericsson, Nokia-Siemens at markets of VNP,
VMS, HTC, EVNT. Especially, the company has implement the project of
Viba Pasolink in-all installation at HT-Mobile network from design,
installation to transfer, which has been highly appreciated in quality
and professionalism by foreign partners and exploiters.
The company also achieved
great success in IT sector in 2006. The software division (Csoft) worked
with foreign partners and was highly appreciated by other firms. The
software of managing information system AIS, which gained Sao Khue prize
in 2007, has been applied in many companies, bringing in high revenue
and profit to the company. Especially, the division of system
integration (Cis) has accessed and grasped new technology, successfully
carrying out a series of big projects such as “Dedicated data
transmission network for the Party and state bodies in the first phase”;
constructing core network for VDC Company; or distance training (meeting
telecast) for staff, officials.
The implementation of big
demanding projects has helped CT-IN’s technical staff become more
confident and mature in work, and prepared to take part in next big
projects. Hence, the company has affirmed its position on IT and telecom
market, raising CT-IN trademark value.
After the privatisation,
CT-IN’s revenues have sharply increased, from VND79 billion (US$4.9
million) in 2002 to up to VND158 billion (US$9.88 million) in late 2006,
and estimated VND200 billion (US$12.5 million) in 2007.
In order to get these above
result, CT-IN has succeeded in reorganising and improving the operation
mechanism towards intensiveness and setting up subsidiaries including
Telecom Technology Centre-Ctelecom, Mobile phone Network Integration
Centre-Cmobile, NGN Technology Centre-Cnext, Telecom Test Centre-Ctest,
and BCCS Postage Calculation and Customer Care Team. These changes are
aimed to actively meet the development demand of the market, as well as
keep pace with increasingly high demand of science and technology in
telecommunication and computing sectors.
Focusing on developing
human resource
One of the most important
elements paid a great attention by CT-IN is developing human resource:
training to improve professional skills for technical officials and
professional officials. In 2006 alone, the company sent 49 turns of
staff to study at training centres of Motorola, Siemens, Huawei,
Ericsson, Nec and Cisco. In addition, CT-IN also places high importance
on attracting talented people by salary and preferential policies, and
always creates most favourable conditions for each individual to promote
their ability in a stable working environment. Another important element
is encouraging workers be creative and active in the work. The company
highly appreciates technical initiatives and proper recommendations and
will popularise them companywide. Individuals who are active in learning
and improving specialist knowledge, professional capacity and management
ability will be honoured.
On June 20, 2007, Nguyen
Huu Hoa, the network consultancy expert of NGN Technology Centre-Cnext,
returned from Sydney (Australia), brining with him the pride of being
one of few Vietnamese people granted the certificate CCIE
Routing&Switching, the highest and prestigious level of Cisco. The event
that Nguyen Huu Hoa was granted CCIE certificate is the pride and of
significance for CT-IN. It affirms that high IT qualification and
practice knowledge and skill of CT-IN’s experts have met the
international standard, creating more faith of clients in CT-IN’s
products and services. This is also an important landmark for CT-IN’s
effort to become Silver Parner of Cisco Systems in the near future.
In the fourth quarter of
this year, Tan Tao International Telecom Joint Stock Company (ITA) and
Telecom Technical Service Joint Stock Company (HTE), two companies
jointly set up by CT-IN and Tan Tao Industrial Park Company & HT Mobile,
are scheduled to be put into operation. The companies will provide
telecom and computing services for industrial parks, urban area,
buildings; and manage and operate telecom and computing networks. They
will survey, consult in design, and build infrastructure of
telecom-computing network, including fixed phone network, mobile phone
network, transmission network and computing network. ITA and HTE will
also provide spare parts and provision materials for the replacement and
repair of equipments of fixed phone and wireless networks, including
microwave transmission equipments, fibre transmission, switching system,
login and mobile.
In the period of
2007-2011, CT-IN will continue affirming its leading position in
Vietnam’s market in telecom and information technology sectors. The
company will highly focus on providing hi-technical services, closely
following the IT development orientation of the telecom market, building
and developing network based on NGN technology.
