CT-IN, A STORY OF GROWTH

On July 25, 2007, the Joint Stock Company for Telecoms and Informatics held the 2007 Annual Shareholder Meeting to assess and review its performance in the privatisation period from late 2001 onwards, as well as to devise a development strategy for the coming 5 years (2007-2011).

Before privatisation, CT-IN was a relatively small enterprise with two ambitions goals : maintaining regular operations to ensure financial stability and gradually investing in human resources and technology to gain further development. Having been through numerous difficulties since first entering the local telecommuniactions market, CT-IN so far has gained a foothold in the field of integrated ICT services-products-solutions; mobile network infrastructure deployment and integration for Vietnam’s biggest GSM operators-Vinaphone and Mobifone. Along with advantages in technique, development capability, and expertise in project management, CT-IN has claimed the leading position in providing CDMA mobile network integration services to such operators as S-Fone, EVN Telecom and Hanoi Telecom. Furthermore, turning itself into a prestigious informatics company to dominate the markets of core network equipment, servers, and software for ISPs is also one of CT-IN’s development strategies.

In 2006, CT-IN recorded unprecedented growth in telecommunications equipment installation services in both revenue and technical content. For the first time, CT-IN has won a full deployment contract from installation, network integration to independent technical check&takeover (without having to rely on technical supports from equipment provider), marking its maturity in technique and project organisation and development capabilities. In addition, CT-IN also maintained its position as a major partner in installation and integration services for major equipment provider such as Motorola, NEC, Huawei, Ericsson, and Nokia-Siemens in the markets of VNP, VMS, HTC, and EVNT. Remarkably, it has provided HT-Mobile with the full-package viba Pasolink installation project, which covers network design, installation, check&takeover and is highly appreciated for quality and professionalism.

The year 2006 also marks a great success year for CT-IN in the information technology area. Its software unit (Csoft) started working with foreign partners and was highly praised. The 2007 Sao Khue awarded-AIS Information Management System Software has been deployed in a number of companies, contributing to the company’s revenues and profits. Particularly, the system integration unit (Cis) had mastered new technologies which enabled the successful deployment of major projects, e.g  “Data Transmission network for government institutions” (phase 1), VDC Core network development, Distance Training (video conference) for the Post&Telecommunications Institude of Technology….

Having participated in various massive projects and overcome scores of challenges, CT-IN’s employees have been ever more mature, confident and well-prepared for new big tasks to come, which strengthened CT-IN’s brand name&reaffirmed the company’s position in the IT industry.

After its privatisation, CT-IN’s revenue has grown dramatically to 158 billion VND in late 2006 from 79 billion VND in 2002 and is expected to be around 200 billion VND in 2007.

The driving force for such great progress was its bolds and determined restructuring towards specialising and establishing divisions such as Telecoms Technology Centre-Ctelecom, Mobile Network Integration Centre-Cmobile, NGN Technology Centre-Cnext, Telecoms Test Centre-Ctest, BCCS-Billing&Customer Care System Team-Cbill&care to actively meet the ever more requirements from the market as well as keep pace with science and technology in informatics and telecommunications.

Moreover, CT-IN always makes human resources one of its highest priorities. Special attention has always been paid to the sustainability and development of human resources and staff training. In 2006 alone, 49 round-trip groups of staff were sent to training centres of Motorola, Siemens, Huawei, Ericsson, NEC, Cisco, etc. In addition to sending employees to training centres at home and abroad, CT-IN also attaches special importance to attracting talents through satisfactory remuneration policies and supports employees to promote their abilities in a secure environment. Another no less important reason is that CT-IN constantly encourages its staff to be innovative and active in working. Initiatives of technical upgrade and sound proposals are highly respected and widely spread in the company. Besides, individuals proving active in studying and bettering their knowledge, expertise and management abilities are honoured, too.

On June 20, 2007, Nguyen Huu Hoa, a network consultant from NGN Technology Centre – Cnext, returned from Sydney, Australia with desirable achievement: Being one of a few Vietnamese nationals awarded CCIE Routing and Switching Certificate, the highest level and most prestigious certificate issued by Cisco. The event is the corporation’s pride and landmark, indicating that its technology and human resource background are of international standards, enabling customers to further trust in CT-IN- offered products and services. This is a great milestone for CT-IN in its thrive for Cisco Systems’ Silver Partner in the coming time.

In the 2007-2011 period, CT-IN will continue to assert its leading position in Vietnam’s telecommunications and information technology markets, determinedly concentrate on providing high technical services, keeping a close watch on the development in new telco technologies: launching and developing NGN technology-based network.

"Turning the shortage of yesterday into the availability of today and the perfection of tomorrow" is the very determination of all the staff of CT-IN for its continued and sustainable growth and development.
