Cisco Systems Appoints CT-IN as First Advanced Technology Provider in Vietnam.

      CT-IN will focus on demand for optical networking infrastructure in the country.

HANOI, Vietnam – December 20th, 2002 – Today, at a press meeting held in Hanoi, Cisco Systems has officially appointed CT-IN (Joint Stock Company for Telecoms & Informatics) as an Advanced Technology Provider (ATP) for Optical Networking. CT-IN is the first Cisco ATP in Vietnam, the third in ASEAN and only the seventh in Asia.

Attending the press meeting were Deputy Minister of Post & Telecommunication Dr. Mai Liem Truc, US embassy’s commercial attaché Mr. Gregory Wong, Representatives of VNPT, our partners and customers, and reporters. At the attendance of Dr. Mai Liem Truc and Mr. Gregory Wong, Mr. Ha Huy Hao –Chief Representative of Cisco Systems Vietnam had handed the ATP Partner contract to Mr. Nguyen Tri Dzung – Managing Director of CT-IN.

 

To become a Cisco ATP Partner, CT-IN was put through a rigorous assessment process that examined the company’s technical skills, service and support capability, business management, and project control. As a Cisco ATP Partner, CT-IN will have full capabilities in not only bring Cisco emerging technologies such as content networking, optical networking and voice over IP to market, but also deliver the best services from design and installation to post-sales support.

Speaking at the press meeting, Deputy Minister Dr. Mai Liem Truc has praised the success of CT-IN achieved in fields of telecommunication, informatics and information technology; thanked Cisco Systems for continuous support Vietnam in building and modernizing the telecommunication network and fields of information technology. He also believed that the appointment of CT-IN to Cisco ATP Partner would take part in developing a modern high-speed telecommunication infrastructure system in Vietnam which would be equal to other countries in the area and around the world.

“CT-IN’s appointment as a Cisco ATP once again underlines our leading position in Vietnam’s telecom market,” said Mr. To Hoai Van, Deputy Managing Director of CT-IN. “With Cisco’s advanced technologies and solutions, we strongly believe that Vietnam’s optical infrastructure will expand widely in the coming months to meet market demand.
